FOR BUILDERS |

t Concrete slab
finish needs to be as smooth as possible (Burn slab as much
as possible) t The score pattern should be cut as soon
as the slab form
boards are removed from the slab. t
The slab needs to cure approximately 3 weeks before applying
chemical stain (Structure is usually
framed and dried before staining) t Framers need
to use blue chalk instead of red chalk
(Red chalk is a dye and can be harmful to the final appearance) t ALL FOOD AND DRINKS
SHOULD BE KEPT OFF OF THE SLAB AT ALL TIMES (No oil products
should be on
the slab) t
All floor plates through threshold and boards that have been
left on the slab need to be removed
(The slab will shadow if items are left
on the slab) t
As soon as the structure is dry
(before mechanicals) the floor should be stained, sealed and
covered t Be sure to warn subcontractors
that the floor is a finished floor (No writing on the slab) t Painters need
to use blue tape only (Remove tape as
soon as item has been painted) t All exterior areas
that are to be stained will need to be protected from pain
and mortar materials. t Cardboard is probably
the best material for covering the floor (It allows the concrete
to breath) t All trades should
be finished before we come in and do the final buff (After
cleaning crew)
